Warm Bacon & Lentil Salad w/ rainbow carrots & crumbled feta

Don't worry, I'm not quitting my day job to become a comedian, but you know imma drop a pun for these titles. Either that or a song lyric and surprisingly, there really aren't any songs that talk about lentils. This was a meal I expected to go down in history as that time I threatened to send the natives to another cave or out in the wild never to return again. Those little brats ate it with out a single complaint other than Native2 being a little concerned about a runny yolk. Proceeded to eat the whole bowl barely batting an eye. Just when I'm all prepared to write a review that talks about my struggle and fight to introduce new flavors into the cave and look how brave we were, look what we over came...nope. Just an old fashion, they ate it. Look I'm not bragging here. I'm just as shocked as you are. Other than bacon and eggs this entire meal was a long list of perfectly good food they've turned down on multiple occasions. Did you know that somehow purple carrots are somehow worse than regular carrots...they've tried that before. Not this time. The. Whole. Bowl.
If you are opposed to runny yolks, skip this recipe. It makes a sauce that really ties the meal together and I think you would find it dry if you hard fried your egg. Salty, smoky, magical bacon mixed with a bold dijon mustard really makes this dish stand out. I was worried because it seemed like it really had so much going on, but it really ties together nicely. I'm a sucker for feta and I always want more. Scratch that, I'm a sucker for cheese and I always want more. I think you and your cave should try this one. It was phenomenal.
Rated a full gallon of milos
I actually also made a dessert from scratch for this meal...but you'll have to come back for that review!
