I Got Baked...

Well I didn't but my bread did. I actually spent way to much time looking up songs with baked and/or bread because I know there's got to be a million songs about making money or getting high in which they use the terms but for the life of me Google was feeling way too wholesome and was literally giving me Barney songs about baking bread. Instead I thought I would be evil and create a little click bait. For anyone wondering, no I did not get high. Tis not my thing y'all, but you do you boo.

I baked bread. Honestly I just wanted to smell baking bread. I do like the bread I make but I was craving the smell of fresh baked bread. Probably would have been easier to just load the natives up in the car and drive to my favorite bakery, but how else would I have tried out all of the things I learned on the Great British Bake Off? I know I've jumped on the bandwagon but I just adore that show. It's so damn adorable and sweet (no pun intended) and I've learned so much about baking, the science behind it, and how to improve my bakes (again, cake and bread, not the weeds). I was also decorating our "large" or formal Christmas tree and it helped to take a break every 40 minutes for each step. I like to have one tree with a theme each year, the Natives selected silver and gold for this year and don't think I haven't been singing that in my head ever since. I used a Betty Crocker Country Style bread recipe and merged it a bit with one of Paul Hollywood's recipes. I weighed flour, I checked water temperatures....I used the bain-Marie method and understood why lol. I did not sit in front of my oven but I did knock on my bread to ensure it was done. Paul would probably claim it was just under done and I definitely hear that in his accent as I type. I know lots of people hate on Paul and he probably isn't a terribly nice person, but the man knows his bread and I'm not dating him so he can be who he wants, doesn't bother me much. I added fresh rosemary from what is left of my garden and some parmesan I had in the fridge. I ate some when it cooled, the natives claimed it was delicious, Hunter is improving so I don't think he has had any. I ate some more for breakfast. I'm on my own for dinner and I'm seriously considering just having bread an butter for dinner. In my opinion, it is that good. Anyway here is the process and the completed tree.
